MITRE's Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Program Division seeks a highly skilled MITRE staff member with experience in cyber security architectures and resiliency. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge virtualization and modeling and simulation solutions that support MITRE's mission to solve problems for a safer world. This is a unique opportunity to work on challenging Missile Defense sponsor innovation projects and collaborate with experts in various fields, while contributing to the advancement of art of the practice security system solutions.

The job is a Colorado Springs, CO-based position; this work location is required to effectively foster staff relationships and shape the direct work program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain complex virtualized architectures and infrastructures to support MITRE's research projects and sponsor needs
• Develop and implement clustered and containerized platforms, security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
• Advise in technical design and development of virtualized C2 and C4ISR modeling systems that integrate C2 and sensor platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions
• Deliver technical guidance and recommendations to sponsor engineers, helping them understand and drive innovation and advanced protype concepts into automation and modeling, simulation, and integration outcomes
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, incorporating new ideas and innovations into the sponsor's network infrastructure
• Collaborate with and lead project teams to ensure network requirements are met and integrated seamlessly into the overall system architecture
• Deliver technical acquisition advise to the government program management, contractual statement of work (SOW) development, technical contract evaluation, and contract negotiation technical expertise
• Have willingness to work as part of a government integrated product team environment partnering technical outcomes across multiple stakeholders and organizations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or similar technical engineering degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. This position requires an active Top Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• 10+ years of experience in applying expert experience level Missile Defense System systems integration, with a focus on designing, implementing, and operating complex C2/C4ISR systems
• Strong understanding of advanced technologies and capabilities, including automation, virtualization, containerization, modeling and simulation
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Ansible, Bash, VMware, Ansible, Docker
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or similar field and with at least 10 years of experience
• Experience battle manager/weapon system integration and testing
• Experience in working in a research and development technical environment
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and strategy/issue resolution development to complex C4 challenges
• Demonstrated ability to present and convey complex technical concepts to senior government leadership
• Technical expertise in a relevant C4 engineering domain
• Known as a team player, ability to work independently with a team environment with loosely defined objectives

• Recognized as a thought leader and one who dynamically and proactively executes leadership and consensus decisions
• Active Top Secret/SCI DoD Clearance

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$163,000 - $203,500 - $244,000 Annual
